Parts Manager - Little Canada store

We are looking for an outstanding individual to be the Parts Manager for our Little Canada, MN location.  This is a full-time job with benefits.

Summary:

The Parts Manager is a highly visible company representative who is responsible for ensuring the profitable operations of the parts department in accordance with company rules, policies and procedures.  The job is a multifaceted position that combines elements of customer service, warehousing, sales, accounting, purchasing, human resources and general management.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and direct the day-to-day operations of the parts department.

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, and increase profitability.

  • Ensure that customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient.

  • Ensure that all products and displays are merchandised effectively to maximize sales and profitability.

  • Maintain store appearance and product presentation to company standards.

  • Ensure that department sales, financial, operational and administrative goals are achieved.

  • Forecast staffing needs and schedule personnel accordingly.

  • Lead and direct the work of parts department staff (2 direct reports).

  • Stock and manage parts inventory to achieve maximum availability and turns.

  • Assume sole responsibility for the accuracy and accountability of the parts inventory.

  • Ensure that parts department activities are performed in accordance with company, vendor and customer policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

Experience: At least one year of successful management experience and 6 months of retail or wholesale parts experience.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.  Some college or technical school preferred.

Skills: Strong verbal communication skills, ability to multi-task and function accurately at a fast pace under pressure, strong computer skills, problem solving ability, mechanical aptitude, superior customer service skills, attention to detail, ability to interpret and understand parts diagrams and electrical/hydraulic schematics.

Physical abilities: Stand for extended periods of time (6-8 hours per day), occasionally lift up to 100 lbs., safely operate a skid-steer loader and other light construction equipment, operate standard office equipment.
